Vacation at last

Oh well, the past months (or year, if I may say) was hectic for me, mainly due to my busy days at work. Though I'm liking work especially the monetary benefits that I get, it was still tiring due to the heavy call volume and the sleepy evening shift that I am in to. At least, another new year has come and I decided to take some time of to unwind and relax for a lil bit.

By the time I have posted this blog, it is already fourth day of my vacation leave and the fifth day of the 1st week of January 2009 that I haven't gone to work. I saved some of my vacation leaves when I earned them last year 2008, hoping that I would be able to use it for the past Christmas season 2008, however it never happened due to scheduling issues. So, I posted 5 days of vacation which started January 5th until this coming 9th. I have my usual day offs, the first was last January 4th and the next days would be the 10th and 11th, and I'll be back to work on the 12th.

My co-workers asked me where will I be going? Out-of-town? Date? Well, I told them that there was no special occasion planned on those days; I told them that I just wanted to have a time off so that I could spend time with family and friends, and possibly catch up with my absence in the past holiday season (FYI, I spend my Christmas and New Year's at wok huhu!). So far, everything's great. Mostly I stayed at home, took some rest, watch TV and VCD/DVD movies, surfed the Internet and cleaned up my room. I seldom go out but if I have to, I just go malling at our nearest mall, which is Sta. Lucia. Recently, I also took care of personal things like paying my credit card bills, buy some stuff and also hanged out at Starbucks to unwind.

So far, I am enjoying my so-called vacation from work. Away from all work-related stuff and just enjoying my time with myself. I never had a chance to spend time that I wanted. The closest thing that this happened was way back from college days in La Salle. Well, just a few more days before I have to come back to work. I am going to spend the remaining days wisely. :)

Happy New Year 2009!

A brand new year for me once again... we say goodbye to 2008 and now we usher a brand new year 2009! To start of, it was a first for me not to celebrate the new year at home; I had to work unfortunately and I was kind of sad not to celebrate it with my family.

Despite that I still managed to enjoy some moments at work. Just like during Christmas, the office provided food and raffled off some goodies. What was surprising is that I won the top prize for the 1st draw which was hotel accommodations for two in Richmonde Hotel. Well, what a good way to start the year! I have never won most raffles and it was a first. Though, I never got the iPod touch that I really wanted (my co-worker won that and I was begging her to switch prizes haha!), I was still happy. Also during my breaks, some agents including TL Teret and some TLs and OMs lighted firecrackers along the empty roads of ADB Avenue and Poveda Street. Even though I wasn't at home to experience fireworks at least I saw them during my break hehe!

I'm very optimistic that this new year will be a good year not only for myself but for my family and others as well. 2008 was challenging year and a lot of firsts happened during that time. Lessons learned and memories cherished I will carry on towards 2009. I hope everyone will have a good start this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 to all! :)

An unfortunate incident

Recently, there was a news report about a brawl between a cabinet official's son and few men with another man and 14-year old son over a golf game at a known golf club in the metro. What's intolerable was that this cabinet official did not even tried to stop the fight and his mere apathy to the situation was already a consent to his son's actions.

This is really an unfortunate event and I feel sorry for the man and his son. This incident could've been prevented, if the people in the scene stopped them, most especially the cabinet official. Such an event is intolerable and a bad example of how a politician should act. To let you know, the cabinet official's son is a town mayor of a municipality in Mindanao and he used his position to threaten the two people in the said incident.

Read more about the incident from the following web sites:

We should not tolerate these people from doing such actions, especially those who have positions in government. All government officials should lead by example. They are there to help and serve the people, and not to enslave and maltreat them.

A new start

It's been a while since I had my first blog post on the Internet. Recently, I have been using another web site to post my thoughts about anything but never had the time to post anything lately due to time issues at work.

Anyway, I have started a brand new blog here in Blogger and maybe I'll cross-post my entries here to my other web site account. I'll update this site when the time warrants. Watch out for it! :)
